Five Questions to Ask in a Cleaning Quote

When asking a cleaning company for a quote for service, we recommend you ask the following 5 questions.

1.Who cleans my home, are they the same cleaners or different ones each time?

Having the same or at least some of the same cleaners means not having to repeat the requests and instructions and makes consistency more likely.

2. What products and tools are used and who provides them, the cleaner or the customer?

If the customer provides the cleaning products and tools, it will add to your costs in supplies and wear and tear.

If the cleaner provides, then the customer’s expenses are lower, and your troubles as you do not have to worry about being stocked up.

So, you should factor that into a quote you get.

3. What is cleaned and how is it done?

Find out which rooms are cleaned for your quote.  It’s not always a set routine and you can likely choose which rooms you want on a regular basis and which ones only occasionally.  Also, what tasks are included in regular clean versus a deep clean, for example baseboard cleaning.

4. How am I charged?

Find out if you are charged by the hour or a fixed price for the amount of work regardless of the time and number of cleaners.

5. Is the cleaner Insured?

Does the cleaner have insurance in case an accident happens, like they knock over a priceless vase?  This will provide you with some relief is something does happen, and some piece of mind.
